Job Description

$1,000 Sign-on Bonus! The Times Union is seeking an experienced offset journeyman pressperson to join its Albany, NY, production operation. If hired, you will work with a close-knit team responsible for maintaining and operating a state-of-the-art KBA Commander CL press that produces Times Union and numerous commercial print publications in a high-quality and cost-effective manner, seven days a week.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of web offset newspaper or commercial printing experience. Able to produce high-quality print results on a consistent basis. Detail oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and customer expectations. Well-developed verbal communication skills. Fluency with computerized press controls and operator interfaces. Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for newspaper printing operations, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. High school diploma or equivalent.
Hours :
Primarily evenings and weekend evenings, but hours can vary based on training and production needs.
Pay:
This is a union position with an hourly journeyman rate of $37.39.
Sign-on Bonus:
Receive $500.00 after 90 days and $500 after 6 months of satisfactory employment. The Times Union is located in New York's Capital Region.
