Fabrication Technician

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS JOB?

Responsible for assembling structural boat products using tools, machines, and their own hands. Fabricates, repairs, and installs articles such as transoms, floor boards and other boat accessories from blueprints with industry standard materials and tools following project schedules and meeting established budgets.

Job Duties:

Fabrication of transoms, floor boards, and joiners for production and/or shipment. Operate various power and manual tools, e.g., sanders, drills, grinders. Measures with various precision instruments as required. Lays out work from written and verbal instructions. Employs appropriate trade methods to ensure integrity. May prepare nonstandard parts fabrication templates Proficient in marking, scribing, cutting, bending, and installing to close tolerances Work and operate machine tools independently while maintaining standard operating procedures Carry out machining and test product to achieve and confirm desired product specifications Perform all safety checks and use PPE as required
