Job Description

Fabrication Technician
  • Pay:
    $22-25/hr DOE
  • Location:
    Camarillo, CA
Position Summary:
The Fabrication Technician is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, testing, and inspecting components and products according to established work instructions, engineering specifications, and quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate fabrication equipment while maintaining productivity and quality objectives.
  • Essential Functions
  • Follow established layouts, drawings, work instructions, and production plans to complete fabrication tasks in the required sequence.
  • Read and interpret measurements accurately using calipers, tape measures, rulers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Position and secure parts in jigs, fixtures, clamps, or workholding devices according to layout specifications.
  • Select, mark, cut, shape, bend, and prepare materials in accordance with work orders and engineering requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain fabrication equipment, including hot air welders, mills, drill presses, saws, flange-forming machines, tubing benders, ultraviolet curing equipment, and lathes.
  • Assemble, fabricate, bond, weld, and construct products and components to specification.
  • Record and maintain traceability of materials, including documenting lot numbers and production records.
  • Inspect work throughout the fabrication process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
  • Clean finished products using approved chemicals, cleaning agents, and non-linting wipes as directed.
  • Perform product testing using electrical leak testers, pressure testing, vacuum testing, and other validation methods as required; accurately document test results.
  • Maintain a high level of quality, productivity, and workmanship while meeting production schedules.
  • Prioritize daily tasks and manage time effectively to achieve department goals and deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, machinery, and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including routine cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
