This position plays a critical role in the construction and finishing of our wood furniture products, ensuring each piece meets the quality and craftsmanship standards our customers have come to expect. We are seeking a skilled craftsman with experience in veneer application, case good assembly, and hardware installation who takes pride in producing high quality furniture. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, an understanding of wood materials and construction techniques, and the ability to consistently produce quality work in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assembling case goods and applying veneer to furniture pieces such as coffee tables, credenzas, dining tables, cabinets, and other wood components. The successful candidate will ensure both the structural integrity and final appearance of each product while maintaining production and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Frame Assembly and Hardware Installation Assemble wood frames, panels, and case good components according to work orders and drawings. Install hardware including hinges, drawer slides, handles, pulls, and other furniture components. Assemble and install drawers ensuring proper fit and functionality. Verify alignment, spacing, and operation of doors and drawers. Square, clamp, and secure parts to ensure furniture is level and structurally sound. Verify dimensions and fit prior to final assembly. Prepare assembled frames and panels for veneer application. Veneer Preparation and Application Measure, cut, match, and apply veneer to furniture components. Operate veneer presses and apply adhesives according to manufacturing standards. Align wood grain and seams to achieve a consistent appearance. Trim, sand, and finish veneered surfaces after application. Surface and Material Preparation Inspect MDF, plywood, and wood components prior to veneer application. Fill, patch, and repair imperfections as needed. Ensure proper glue coverage and bonding conditions. Prepare surfaces to meet quality and finishing standards. Equipment and Tools Safely operate veneer presses, glue spreaders, saws, trimmers, sanding equipment, and hand tools. Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Quality Control Inspect completed pieces for defects, misalignment, lifting, bubbles, or surface imperfections. Verify proper operation of drawers, doors, hinges, and hardware. Ensure all products meet quality and appearance standards prior to release. Communicate production or quality concerns to management in a timely manner. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in veneer application, cabinetry, woodworking, or furniture manufacturing. Experience assembling case goods and installing furniture hardware required. Experience with hinges, drawer slides, handles, pulls, and drawer assembly. Ability to read work orders, drawings, and cut lists. Knowledge of wood species, veneer materials, MDF, and plywood construction. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Ability to use hand tools and woodworking equipment safely. Ability to lift and move furniture components as needed. Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Desired Traits Strong work ethic and sense of ownership.
