Job Description
Overview Wire Harness Assembler's job will primarily consist of following wiring diagrams and assembly drawings to build harness subcomponents and/or complete wire harness assemblies. You will be required to read bills of material, follow written and verbal instruction, demonstrate attention to detail, and efficiently produce quality results in a consistent and organized manner. You will assist in testing completed wire harnesses for quality assurance and troubleshooting failure points. You will collaborate with the engineering staff to work through issues and suggest design improvements when appropriate. Responsibilities Construct wire harnesses by cutting, marking, stripping, crimping, and routing various lengths and gauges of wire, heat shrink, sleeving, and other materials Operate wire identification and cutting machines, crimping machines, heat guns, and hand tools such as wire strippers and crimpers. Test wire harnesses for continuity and proper functionality Locate malfunctions and repair Read bill of materials and follow schematics, drawings, and verbal or written instructions Package completed harnesses and prepare for shipping Identify inefficiencies and suggest possible improvements to process or product Qualifications Basic computer skills Good communication skills General knowledge of operating hand tools and power tools Knowledge of electrical systems and wire harnesses (preferred) Able to read bill of materials and wiring diagrams (preferred)
