This is not your typical assembly line job — you'll be trained up to be highly capable on multiple build stations, and be given the independence and agency to support the day shift with flexible off-hours work. The exact shift is flexible - it can be as early as noon-8pm, or from 4pm-midnight. Responsibilities Build intricate assemblies to integrate into a balloon payload Electrically and mechanically test parts throughout the assembly process Meet weekly quotas for your part of the manufacturing process Operate processes where high attention to detail is required Using proprietary software test and track manufacturing progress Work from evolving instructions — often verbal or from early-stage documentation Solder components onto delicate PCBs Collaborate with engineers to iterate on new designs and improve build processes Skills and Qualifications Excellent hand dexterity Familiarity with hand and power tools Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and process Comfortable working with small and delicate materials Ability to follow written instructions provided by the manufacturer to build final product Ability to manage time effectively in order to finish tasks needing completion in a timely manner Ability to adapt to new procedures Comfortable working in a fast paced environment where priorities can change quickly Able to work swing shift hours from afternoon to evening at Redwood City, CA location Nice to Have Soldering and electronics assembly experience Experience working in a clean room environment Experience manufacturing small electronics Familiar with 3D printers, Laser cutters, or heavy machinery Experience with creative fabrication projects - prop building, cosplay, sewing Familiarity with Linux Experience working at a startup or on a small team Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance 2 weeks PTO Office food and beverages Salary $26-$28/hr starting Location 1600 Bridge Parkway Redwood City, CA 94065.
