Job Description

Job Purpose:
Work in a safe and efficient manner to produce products and components by assembling parts and subassemblies of electronic equipment to defined specifications, quality standards and performance levels.
Duties:
  • Perform one or more repetitive jobs on a press machine on an assembly or sub assembly line.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Prepares work station and gathers parts, instructions, checklists, tools, and materials for assembly; inspects all parts prior to assembly for quality assurance
  • Follows work instructions given by Production Manager. Reads work orders regarding tasks to be accomplished within a specific time period
  • Studies Standards of Procedures (SOPs) and instruction manuals to ensure assembly is performed to specifications and quality standards
  • Uses resources and supplies appropriately in order to preserve supplies, reduce errors, and accomplish production results
  • Notifies Production Manager of assembly problems, resource shortages, and seeks guidance where necessary to accomplish production goals
  • Places finished assembled products in designated areas for quality inspection
  • Keeps equipment and tools operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Maintains and contributes to a positive working environment and promotes positive communications; keeps a professional demeanor at all times as not to distract co-workers from meeting their production results
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms, as required
  • Maintains a flexible work schedule in order to accommodate customers' fluctuating needs
  • Participates in training activities in order to increase personal skills and knowledge as well as train others
  • Remains flexible as needed to perform roles working in other departments or production cells to assist with various work tasks
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent and related vocational schooling
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and directions
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks each workday and maintain a positive attitude
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, stoop, bend over, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures during various seasonal changes
  • Self disciplined to work at a steady pace as well as assist others with tasks when requested by management or work is slow
  • Possess good dexterity and strength in hands and uses fingers to assemble products within time constraints
  • Must have good vision in order to assemble parts properly and timely
