Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Assembler 3 for a contract opportunity in Denver, CO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3+ years of mechanical assembly experience (machinery or industrial equipment preferred). o Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing/fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, machining (CNC), assembly, and assembly tools.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers for quality control inspections.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Looking for an Assembler 3 to perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. Responsibilities for Assembler 3:
  • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and complete machines using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Align, fit, and adjust parts to ensure proper function and tolerances.
  • Install bearings, gears, motors, shafts, conveyors, pneumatic components, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, and other fabrication tasks as required.
  • Conduct quality checks to verify specifications and operational performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical assembly issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical technology or related field.
  • Experience in custom machinery, automation, or manufacturing environments.
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise communication of part specifications.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for supporting automation projects.
  • Open to working up to 10 hours of overtime per week.
  • Currently involved in regular strength and/or conditioning activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 5/40 workweek. 7:00AM-4:30PM shift.
