Job Title:
PO3 Assembler - HUGO Job Description The PO3 Assembler operates a variety of tools, equipment, and assembly processes to produce high-quality products in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This role follows standard work instructions and customer specifications, maintains accurate records, and actively supports continuous improvement initiatives. The assembler works both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, ensuring all tasks are completed on time without compromising quality. Responsibilities Operate tools, equipment, and assembly processes in accordance with provided instructions and established procedures, and apply prior experience to work with limited or no instructions when needed. Assist in creating or improving work instructions when documentation is incomplete or not available, ensuring processes are clearly defined and easy to follow. Understand and adhere to standard work practices, including quality policies and customer specifications, to consistently meet product and process requirements. Monitor personal work output to ensure it meets quality standards, promptly identify issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors, escalating concerns when necessary. Maintain accurate timekeeping, including recording hours worked and tasks performed, to support labor tracking and production planning. Record and track labor usage, inventory movement, process documentation, scrap, and quality records with a high level of accuracy and organization. Support improvement initiatives focused on safety, cleanliness, product quality, and efficiency, and actively participate in activities that enhance the work environment. Generate new and innovative ideas to solve complex problems and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflows. Keep all required certifications and training current, ensuring compliance with role-specific requirements and company standards. Consistently complete assignments on time while maintaining high quality, effectively managing workload and prioritizing tasks. Train other team members on tasks and processes when assigned, sharing knowledge and helping to build team capability. Adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and processes, and remain comfortable performing different types of work on a frequent basis. Use computers and basic software tools to access instructions, enter data, and maintain electronic records related to production and quality. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or similar hands-on environment. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly operations. Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams, schematics, or blueprints to perform accurate builds and installations. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use computers for timekeeping, documentation, and accessing work instructions. Strong attention to detail to ensure components are assembled correctly and quality standards are consistently met. Ability to adapt to change, including shifting tasks, priorities, and processes in a dynamic production environment. Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with supervisors, peers, and trainees, and to document work accurately. Ability to learn new tasks quickly and remain comfortable completing different assignments on a frequent basis. Capability to exercise sound judgment and demonstrate initiative when addressing issues or improving processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience creating or updating work instructions or process documentation. Experience in maintaining accurate records for labor tracking, inventory control, scrap, and quality metrics. Experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement, safety, or 5S initiatives. Comfort training or mentoring others on assembly tasks and procedures. Familiarity with working in a clean, organized, and process-driven production environment. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
