Company Description:
Custom Aluminum Products, an aluminum extruding manufacturer in South Elgin and Genoa, IL is looking for a 1st shift Production Welder and Fabricator for its Genoa facility. Willing to train recent graduate with little experience.

The Welder has primary responsibility for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. The aluminum weld processes include MIG, TIG and robotic. This position reports to the
Welding Supervisor Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all company policies and safe work practices.
  • Comply with company quality, 5S and safety programs.
  • Responsible for use of proper PPE.
  • Ability to interpret welding blueprints, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Fabricate aluminum assemblies using MIG, TIG and other welding processes.
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
  • Tack assemblies together.
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Ability to use as a grinder to prepare and/or clean weld joint of work piece per blueprint requirements.
  • Perform quality checks as required.
  • Responsible for producing quality assemblies at specified rates.
Knowledge Skills:
  • Previous experience within a production welding manufacturing environment but willing to train recent graduate with little experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with aluminum welding processes (MIG, TIG, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Weld Certification not required, but a plus.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Position includes an excellent compensation package including BCBS PPO or HMO health, BCBS dental, Eyemed vision insurance, vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays and 401K match. Salary commensurate with experience.
