Assembly Technician Job Description This position involves using assembly instructions and tools to assemble components and subassemblies, ensuring correct fit and specifications. Responsibilities Use assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, tools, and materials to ensure accurate assembly. Position parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies. Verify specifications by measuring completed components. Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notify supervisors to obtain additional resources. Contribute to team success by accomplishing results as needed. Cross-train in all areas of assembly and assist in other departments as required. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude Proficiency in using hand and power tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams Experience in electrical assembly and wiring Ability to stand constantly and lift up to 50 lbs Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in mechanical assembly and construction Competence in using tape measures Ability to resolve assembly problems effectively Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is in a very clean facility, operating on the 1st shift from 6 am to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, with Fridays offering a shift premium. The role requires constant standing and involves handling physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
