Job Description
Job Title:
Heavy Assembler Job Description The Heavy Assembler works in the Element department, assembling pleat packs and filter elements according to detailed work instructions and blueprint specifications. This role involves using hand tools and production equipment to cut, seam, assemble, finish, and package filter elements while maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble pleat packs and filter elements in accordance with specific work instructions and blueprint specifications. Use hand tools to cut excess material from filter elements once the product is completed. Perform seaming by gluing filter components together using an epoxy glue gun. Operate an oven to cure and solidify glue and caps on the filter elements. Complete minor assembly of additional parts of the element as required. Perform final assembly, including installing O-rings, handles, and sealing boxes on finished products. Conduct final quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specification requirements. Package completed products according to defined specifications and standards. Work efficiently on an assembly line and in general production to meet daily output and quality goals. Use basic measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and height gauges when needed. Follow mechanical assembly procedures and use power tools and wiring tools where required. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and PPE requirements. Stand for extended periods and lift materials or products up to 25 lbs as part of daily tasks. Collaborate with team members in groups of 4-5 to complete production assignments. Adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment and support overtime requirements when needed. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and follow mechanical assembly processes. Experience and ability to safely use basic hand tools such as box cutters, glue guns, and hammers. Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours per shift. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of regular job duties. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. Ability to work on an assembly line and in general production or general labor roles. Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly tasks. Ability to follow written work instructions and read basic blueprints or specifications. Reliability and willingness to work mandated overtime, including some weeks over 50 hours and occasional Saturdays. Additional Skills & Qualifications Blueprint reading experience. Machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing setting. Experience with pleat compactor machines. Experience operating ovens or similar production equipment. Experience using calipers, gauges, and height gauges for measurement and quality checks. Experience with mechanical assembly and wiring tasks. Comfort using tape measures and other basic measuring tools. Previous experience in assembly production, general production, or packaging roles. Ability to work effectively in small teams and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean, air-conditioned, and quiet manufacturing plant focused on production of filter elements. Team members typically work in groups of 4 or 5, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment. Shifts include a first shift from Monday to Friday and a second shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. Each shift includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two or three 15-minute paid breaks, depending on shift length. Overtime is sometimes mandated, and employees must be prepared to work more than 50 hours per week at times, including some Saturdays. The position involves extended periods of standing and moderate lifting in a fast-paced assembly and production setting. The dress code includes jeans, a t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and a high-visibility vest, is provided and required in designated areas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
