Job Summary:
Be part of Fiber Global's mission to create sustainable, high-performing materials from waste. In our Lafayette R&D facility, the Assembler builds and tests prototype cabinetry components using our breakthrough Forged Fiber Board (FFB). This role focuses on precise assembly for validation and demonstration of FFB's potential in the cabinetry industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble FFB-based components into functional cabinetry prototypes, including panels, frames, doors, and hardware integration. Follow detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and R&D work orders with high accuracy. Perform quality checks, measurements, fit validations, and report material or design feedback. Work closely with engineers and craftsmen during iterative testing and refinement cycles. Support documentation of assembly processes and results for R&D records and use-case development. Maintain a clean, safe workstation adhering to 5S and R&D safety standards. Help prepare prototypes for internal testing, photography, or customer demonstrations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. 6-10 years of assembly experience in woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, or manufacturing (strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn FFB will be considered for entry-level). Ability to use hand and power tools effectively. Basic math/measurement skills and ability to follow precise instructions. Team-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable in a dynamic R&D setting. Physical ability to stand for shifts, lift up to 40-50 lbs, and handle precise/repetitive tasks.
Preferred Skills:
6-10 year Background in cabinetry or millwork assembly. Experience with quality validation or prototyping workflows. Enthusiasm for sustainable materials and innovation.
