Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally. We are currently seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods to defined product specifications. This role supports technical assembly and kitting operations and requires consistent adherence to standard work practices, attention to detail, and sound judgment when making decisions within established standards and procedures. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN and is not a remote position. This position reports to the Production Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and process documentation. Assemble components and finished goods to product specifications and established work instructions. Assemble and install electronic components into sub-assemblies and finished goods. Perform in-process and final tests/inspections to verify products meet specifications. Document and maintain manufacturing procedures, records, and required production documentation for specified devices. Calibrate, test, and maintain production and test equipment as applicable and assigned. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and comply with company rules and policies. Operate warehouse equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and work-assist vehicles, as needed and authorized. Support the company's
ISO/IEC 80079-34
initiatives and related quality requirements. Qualifications & Competencies Employment Eligibility & Verification All applicants must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the I-9 form, as required by federal law. Additionally, candidates will be required to undergo an employment verification process before beginning work. Please note that we do not offer sponsorship for work authorization (e.g., H-1B, TN, or other visas) at this time. High school diploma or GED required. 3 - 5 years of experience in a technical assembly or manufacturing environment (electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly preferred). Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision assembly and alignment. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate positively with team members and other departments. Organized and self-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions within established standards and practices. Ability to learn, apply, and master new assembly processes and skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working Conditions Work is performed in a climate-controlled assembly environment.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 1st shift. Physical Requirements The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, or crouch. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
