Job Title:
Production Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling mechanical and electrical components using hand and power tools in a clean, well-organized manufacturing facility in the northern Indianapolis area. You will read basic blueprints, follow standardized processes, and contribute to a safe and efficient production line on a first-shift schedule. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical and electrical components using pneumatic and hand tools such as ratchets, torque guns, and putty knives. Read and interpret basic blueprints to correctly assemble products according to specifications. Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles, including sorting, setting in order, shining, standardizing, and sustaining. Stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed throughout the shift to support continuous production. Inspect assembled components for defects or misalignment and make necessary adjustments or rework. Use mechanical assembly techniques to safely and accurately fit, fasten, and secure parts and subassemblies. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve basic assembly issues. Handle tools and equipment safely, following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards or equipment issues. Document work as required, such as tracking completed units or reporting issues with materials or components. Essential Skills Experience using pneumatic tools and power tools, including ratchets and torque guns, in a production or assembly environment. Proficiency with hand tools such as putty knives and similar equipment for mechanical assembly tasks. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and follow written or visual assembly instructions. Hands-on mechanical assembly experience, including fitting, fastening, and aligning parts. Ability to stand for the majority of the shift and lift materials as required to support assembly operations. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and adherence to quality standards. Capability to maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S or similar workplace organization practices. Basic understanding of electrical assembly processes or components. Commitment to following safety procedures when working with tools, equipment, and materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial assembly environment. Experience in mechanical assembly, including working with complex assemblies or multiple components. Exposure to electrical assembly tasks, such as handling wiring, connectors, or electrical subassemblies. Familiarity with 5S, lean manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Work Environment The position is based in a very clean, well-lit manufacturing facility in the northern Indianapolis region, operating on a first-shift schedule. The work involves constant standing and regular lifting of materials while using pneumatic tools, power tools, and hand tools at designated assembly stations. The facility follows 5S principles, emphasizing organization, cleanliness, and standardized work areas. You will work around mechanical and electrical assemblies, with clearly defined workspaces and safety procedures to support efficient and safe production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Noblesville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
