Job Title:
Clean Room Assembler Job Description The Clean Room Assembler performs precise kitting and assembly of medical devices in a controlled clean room environment. This role uses hand tools and sewing techniques to complete repetitive, detail-oriented tasks while following written work instructions and documented procedures. The position requires strong hand dexterity, the ability to work with small components, and comfort using basic computer systems to review instructions and record work. Responsibilities Assemble medical device components in a clean room environment following detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. Perform kitting activities by gathering, organizing, and preparing parts and materials required for each assembly job. Use hand tools and sewing techniques, including the use of a sewing needle, to complete precise and accurate assemblies. Carry out repetitive assembly tasks with consistent quality, speed, and attention to detail. Follow written work instructions and visual guides to ensure assemblies meet required specifications and quality standards. Use computer systems to access work instructions, record production data, and document completed work as required. Handle small parts and delicate components using strong hand dexterity and careful manual handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support clean room requirements and efficient workflow. Adhere to all clean room protocols, including gowning procedures and contamination control guidelines. Follow safety procedures and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques for items up to 30 lbs. Essential Skills Experience performing assembly work, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively in a clean room environment and follow strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures. Proficiency using basic hand tools for assembly tasks. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality. Strong hand dexterity for working with small parts, sewing needles, and fine assembly tasks. Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions. Basic computer skills to review work instructions and enter production information. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs safely as part of daily work activities. Willingness and ability to work a 2nd shift schedule, Monday-Thursday, 3:45 PM to 2:15 AM. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in medical device assembly or other regulated manufacturing environments. Familiarity with production workflows and meeting production targets. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to stay focused and productive while performing repetitive tasks. Strong reliability and punctuality to support a fixed 4x10 shift schedule. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean room medical device production facility that follows strict cleanliness, contamination control, and safety standards. You work primarily on the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:45 PM to 2:15 AM, following a 4x10 schedule. The work involves standing or sitting at assembly stations, using hand tools and sewing needles, and handling small components for extended periods. You use computer terminals or workstations to access digital work instructions and record production data. The clean room environment requires adherence to specific gowning and attire guidelines, such as wearing protective garments and following defined entry and exit procedures to maintain a controlled and hygienic workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Salem, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
