Assembly Technician The Shyft Group life insurance, 401(k) United States, Michigan, Charlotte May 09, 2026 Assembly Technician | The Shyft Group, Inc. | Charlotte, MI (SV) Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $18.20 - 22.00 What you'll do:
SCOPE OF POSITION
Assembles metal products, partially or completely, working at a bench or on shop floor by performing duties assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Read and interpret assembly prints and bills of material.
  • Gathers and positions materials and parts according to Assembly documentation or verbal instruction.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Uses and operates various pneumatic, electrical, and manual hand tools.
  • Reports any issues with product or equipment to department lead.
What you need to be successful:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.
  • Ability to perform basic math and ability to read a tape measure down to a 1/16th .
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from ladders.
  • Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
