Job Description

Job Title:
Assembly - 1st Shift - $17.50 Job Description This role supports a busy manufacturing and warehouse operation by building cabinet interiors for signs, performing assembly tasks, and handling general production and material handling duties. You will use hand and power tools, assist with assembling and palletizing shipments, and help with pulling, packing, and loading products. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe tool operation, and the ability to perform medium to heavy lifting in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Build and assemble the interior components of signs in the cabinets department according to specifications and quality standards. Use hand tools and power drills safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks. Operate a nail gun and other hand power tools to assemble parts and components. Perform medium to heavy lifting, including moving materials and finished products weighing between 20 and 40 pounds. Assemble and palletize shipments to ensure products are properly prepared for transport. Pull, pack, and load products and materials for shipping and receiving activities. Work both independently and as part of a team to meet daily production goals. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues. Follow written and verbal instructions, including measurements and layouts, using a tape measure accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area in the manufacturing, assembly, shipping/receiving, or testing areas as assigned. Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe tool operation. Stand for extended periods on concrete floors while performing repetitive assembly and production tasks. Support different areas of the facility as needed, including manufacturing, shipping/receiving, assembly, and testing. Essential Skills At least 1 year of machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in assembly work. Ability to use a tape measure accurately for measurements and layout work. Experience using a power drill and other basic hand tools in a production or warehouse setting. Mechanical aptitude with comfort using hand tools, drills, and nail guns. Capability to lift 20 to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting and repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with others. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality. Detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate assembly and quality workmanship. Comfort standing on concrete floors for the majority of the shift. Willingness to work Monday through Friday, with a shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and stay until 5:00 p.m. on some days as needed. Availability to work Saturdays as required through the end of the year. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, or production environments. Experience with assembling and palletizing shipments in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Comfort working in different areas of a large facility, including manufacturing, assembly, shipping/receiving, and testing. Strong work ethic and desire for a long-term position with opportunities to contribute and grow. Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance. Ability to adapt to varying workloads and support overtime needs when required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
