Job Description
Role Overview As a Truss Assembler, you will play a key role in our high-volume production facility by constructing wood roof and floor trusses. This position involves utilizing pre-cut components, specialized assembly machinery, and metal plates to build structural elements. Core Responsibilities Construct wood trusses by strictly following production timelines and engineering designs. Organize and set up pre-cut lumber components onto jigs or assembly surfaces. Utilize various hand tools, pneumatic devices, and automated machinery to fasten truss plates securely. Conduct thorough quality inspections to verify the structural soundness and precision of every unit. Contribute to a cooperative team environment by assisting in the movement of large components, utilizing team lifts for heavy items. Analyze blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine necessary dimensions, materials, and project layouts. Utilize marking gauges, chalk, pencils, and rulers to accurately measure and designate cutting lines on materials. Employ power saws, machinery, or hand tools to shape and trim materials to meet exact project specifications. Required Skills and Qualifications Prior background in assembly, construction, or manufacturing is beneficial but not mandatory. Proficiency in reading a tape measure is essential. Demonstrated experience operating various hand tools. Capacity to lift and transport objects weighing up to 35 pounds independently. Support the team by using mechanical assists, conveyors, or partner lifts to manage heavier materials. Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, and bend consistently throughout your shift. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks involving arm and hand motions. Requirement to wear steel-toed boots or work boots.
