Job Summary:

The Cutter & Rail Assembly position supports metal fabrication operations through cutting and assembling metal railing components. Employees begin in a designated department and are cross-trained in both cutting and assembly once fully trained. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, can follow instructions closely, and are comfortable working with tools and equipment in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate large table saws to cut metal railings and decking materials (Cutters) Assemble metal railing components according to work instructions (Assemblers) Use hand and power tools to complete assembly and cutting tasks Follow written instructions, prints, and specifications accurately Learn multiple product variations and assembly methods Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy Cross-train between cutting and assembly departments once fully trained Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Take direction from supervisors and team leads Assist with additional production duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and bend for a full 8-hour shift Experience using basic manufacturing tools such as impact drills, hand drills, angle grinders, miter saws, and sanders Ability to read a tape measure accurately Basic math skills, including fractions Ability to read and understand blueprints Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Steel toe boots required

Working Conditions:

This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, power tools, and moderate noise levels. The role requires standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
