Upholstery Assembler

Job/Responsibilities:

Tuohy Furniture Corporation is located in Chatfield MN. We are currently looking for a Upholstery Assembler to join our TEAM! You would be working within the Uphostlery Department. Yourwork schedule would be working four 10 hours shifts. Starting at 5am to 3:30pm Monday - Thursday .

Position Summary:

The Upholstery Assembler will be responsible for upholstering fabric panels and office chair components, including seat cushions, backrests, and arm pads, using a variety of fabrics, vinyl, leather, and foam. This position plays a key role in ensuring that each product meets our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, sew, and attach fabric, vinyl, or leather to chair components using industrial sewing machines, staple guns, and hand tools. Fit and stretch materials tightly and evenly over frames, using patterns and measurement tools to ensure precision. Assemble cushions and foam padding, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to ergonomic specifications. Inspect finished products for quality, correcting any defects or inconsistencies. Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the upholstery work area. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications Preferred:

Proven experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing (1+ year). Ability to work with various fabrics and materials. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Proficient with hand tools, staple guns, sewing machines, and measuring tools. Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

Standing, bending, and repetitive motion required throughout shift. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. $1,000 bonus available after completing 6 months of employment.
