Job Description

Job Summary:
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling mechanical and/or electrical components into finished products or subassemblies in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble parts, components, and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures.
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and verbal directions to complete assemblies accurately.
  • Inspect assembled parts for quality, fit, and function to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Identify and report defective materials, tools, or equipment to the Assembly Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments during the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and safety guidelines.
  • Record production data, inspection results, and other required documentation.
  • Meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
Secondary Duties:
  • Assist with packaging, labelling, and preparing products for shipment.
  • Crosstrain on other assembly stations or production areas as needed.
  • Support inventory counts and material handling activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude may be considered.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics.
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety conscious.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools.
  • Visual acuity for inspecting parts and reading instructions.
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing or production floor environment.
  • Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and typical industrial conditions.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable.

Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
