JOB TITLE
Final Assembler - 2nd Shift
SUERVISOR
Production Manager STATUS:
Non-Exempt (Hourly)
LOCATION
Two Harbors, MN Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assembling various components on SERCO loaders and grapples, which includes attaching hydraulic hoses, booms and cylinders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Interprets technical documents, such as blueprints and drawings, and follows established procedures. Collects all material and equipment needed to begin the process. Takes precision measurements to ensure fit of components. Aligns and assembles components according to approved specifications utilizing hand tools, fixtures and fastening equipment. Selects or modifies components according to measurements and specifications. Maintains quality standards of finished products to ensure conformance to specifications. Reports on issues, malfunctions or defective parts. Follows all safety requirements. Operates a forklift to transport parts and components to work area. Keeps work area safe, clean and organized. Ensures proper placement of tools and other equipment at the end of shift. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Mechanical background. Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings. Familiar with measuring tools, such as calipers, tape measure, etc. Basic written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques. Attention to detail. Understanding of quality control principles.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time. Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Must wear proper personal protective equipment.
