This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in general maintenance, fabrication, mechanical repair, or skilled trades who enjoys varied work and flexible scheduling. You'll work on intermediate to advanced-level testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of fabricated components, assemblies, and systems. This role supports production, engineering, and quality teams by ensuring products meet specifications, safety requirements, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Fabrication and modification of custom fixtures, jigs, brackets, and test setups General handyman and building maintenance work (mechanical, carpentry, minor electrical) Equipment setup, repair, adjustment, and improvement Use of hand tools, power tools, shop tools, and basic fabrication equipment Troubleshoot mechanical and facility issues and perform repairs Support lab, operations, and engineering teams on special projects Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Qualifications Experience as a handyman, fabricator, maintenance technician, mechanic, or skilled trades worker High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or coursework preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures 2-4 years of experience in fabrication, testing, or related technical field. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience Comfortable working independently and managing small projects Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks Preferred Welding or metal fabrication experience Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, lab, or industrial environments Schedule & Work Type Part-time (Typically 24 hours weekly.
