What You'll Be Doing:
The purpose of the Wire Harness Assembler is to: 1) Assemble cable/harness assemblies, subassemblies, products or systems per military or manufacturing specifications; 2) Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals; and 3) Follow company policy and procedure ensuring a safe, respectful workplace.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Builds assemblies from production drawings and written work instructions for assigned company order. Join or secure parts in place by crimping, staking, bolting, riveting, tack welding, soldering or similar operations. Positions and aligns parts in a specified relationship to each other in a jig, fixture, or other holding device. Routes wires per drawing or fixture defined in assembly work instructions. Assembles and attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies. Maintain production records, logs, and other report forms. Identify and inform Team Lead/Supervisor of any product defects or production process issues. Maintain a clean, safe work environment free of FOD. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
1-3 years manufacturing/production experience required. Ability to read and follow written work instructions. Experience with schematics and blue prints. Basic computer literacy.
Quality Systems Training:
IPC-610, IPC-620
preferred. Must obtain upon hire. J-STD Soldering Certification preferred. Must obtain upon hire.
Work Environment:
Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
