of providing the nation shelf-stable, convenient meat snacks.SUMMARY:
A Processing Line Worker is responsible for working as part of a team in transporting, hanging jerky, moving trucks, moving gondolas, laying product on screens, inspecting, and assisting where needed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knows and adheres to the rules of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knows and adheres to the safety procedures; Reports safety concerns to Packaging Manager.
- Read and identify product labels.
- Occasionally use chemicals to wash down machinery.
- Before loading or cutting any product, check the labels on the container/truck and make sure they match the labels on your hopper/table(s).
- Ensure that only a minimal amount of product falls on the floor.
- Inspect raw product for contaminants
- Ensure products being handled are correct to plan
- Report any concerns to your machine operator or lead.
- Fill in as needed in other departments or shifts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), no prior experience necessary.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to count.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, crouch and talk and hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, temperatures vary from 40 to 100 degrees.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to loud, some areas require hearing protection.
