Job Description

Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling and packing a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and fabricated elevator components in a clean manufacturing environment. You will work on small parts for elevator doors, walls, and related assemblies, as well as perform kitting, picking, and packing tasks to prepare components for shipment. The position offers both first and second shift opportunities and is suitable for candidates with basic assembly experience or strong mechanical aptitude, including those at an entry-level. Responsibilities Assemble and pack a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and fabricated elevator components according to established procedures. Perform all operations necessary to assemble, align, and pack elevator subassemblies and assemblies within allocated time standards while maintaining quality specifications. Work from manufacturing information, SAP data, COE sheets, engineering drawings, and written and oral instructions to complete tasks accurately. Assemble small parts for elevator doors, walls, and related components using appropriate tools and methods. Perform kitting activities by gathering and organizing parts and materials required for production. Pick and pack parts and assemblies for shipment, ensuring correct identification, labeling, and packaging. Package and identify completed assemblies for shipment in accordance with company standards. Maintain all required production records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Use hand tools and basic equipment safely and correctly during assembly and packing operations. Lift and move materials and components, including items weighing up to 50 pounds, as needed to support production. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working on the shop floor. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and on-time completion of orders. Essential Skills Basic mechanical assembly experience or demonstrated mechanical inclination. Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform picking and packing tasks accurately. Basic blueprint reading skills to interpret simple drawings and instructions. Ability to work from manufacturing information, SAP data, COE sheets, and written and oral instructions. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties. Attention to detail to maintain quality specifications and correct part identification. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation related to production. Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts, including first shift (6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) or second shift (2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Additional Skills & Qualifications Kitting experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical assembly. Experience working with SAP or similar manufacturing information systems. Prior picking and packing experience in a production or distribution setting. Experience using a variety of hand tools in an industrial or mechanical setting. Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility with a fairly clean shop floor and moderate noise levels typical of a production environment. Work is performed on-site in assembly, kitting, and packing areas using hand tools and standard production equipment. The schedule offers first shift (6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) or second shift (2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday. While working in the shop, employees must wear steel-toed boots, long pants, and safety glasses, and are expected to follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
