What you will be doing:
Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists, and verify parts clearances Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers Maintain and lubricate parts and components Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications Keep Team Leader abreast of progress, developments and pending problems Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Identify and reduce non-value-added work Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas Who we're looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. Position Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years in a mechanical, engine or automotive trade school or equivalent Associates Degree; or 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment. Preferred Requirements:
Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of goods Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Basic knowledge of engine control systems, design, assembly and function Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees in a team atmosphere Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures Experience in engine control systems, design, function and assembly, including marine applications Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future.
