Job Description

Job Title:
Light Industrial Assembler Job Description This role involves performing mechanical and production assembly of industrial valves using hand and power tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will assemble components by hand or with air wrenches, follow blueprints and work instructions, complete quality checks, and accurately document assembly operations. The position requires safe operation of material handling equipment, careful use of measurement tools, and consistent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finished products. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and production assembly of valves and related components using hand tools, air wrenches, and torque tools. Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications. Follow blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. Load and unload valves into assembly fixtures and secure them properly for assembly operations. Transport valves and assembled products safely between workstations and designated areas. Operate a JIG or man lift to reach up to 4 feet in height to pick parts from shelves and storage locations. Lift, move, and position parts and components weighing up to 35 pounds as part of daily assembly duties. Retrieve replacement parts and materials from the stockroom to maintain workflow and minimize downtime. Install and remove bubble test fittings and other test components as required for quality verification. Perform routine quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications. Complete all required paperwork and documentation for assembly operations accurately and in a timely manner. Follow production schedules and work as part of an assembly line to meet daily and weekly output goals. Use hand and power tools safely and correctly, including air ratchet wrenches, manual wrenches, pliers, and clamps. Assist with basic repair or rework of products as needed based on quality findings or work instructions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and safety guidelines. Essential Skills At least 1 year of recent manufacturing experience, with related work within the last 3 months. Proven mechanical assembly experience in a production or light industrial environment. Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions. Proficiency using hand and power tools, including air ratchet wrenches, manual wrenches, pliers, clamps, and torque tools. Ability to use a tape measure accurately and interpret basic measurements. Experience working on a production line or in a general production setting. Capability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis. Strong attention to detail to perform quality checks and ensure accurate assembly. Ability to complete required paperwork and documentation clearly and accurately. Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts and train on the designated training shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous manual assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred. Experience with light industry, industrial equipment, or construction-related tasks. Experience in machine operation, repair, or general labor in an industrial environment. Familiarity with electrical or mechanical components in an assembly context. Comfort working in an environment where oil or lubricants are present due to the nature of the product. Ability to work both independently and as part of an assembly line team. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and tools. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that can be oily at times due to the products being produced. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and a third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with initial training provided on the first shift for approximately three weeks. Team members receive two 10-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch each shift. You will work with hand and power tools, assembly fixtures, JIGs or man lifts, and measuring tools in a structured production environment. The dress code requires khakis, work pants such as Dickies, or blue jeans, and allows t-shirts as long as they do not display offensive or derogatory language. For safety reasons, jewelry and watches are not permitted while working on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
