We design, fabricate, and install nearly all of our work in-house, allowing us to maintain high standards for quality, craftsmanship, and service. Job Summary Lambert's Ironworks is seeking a dependable Ironwork Fabricator / Installer to support fabrication and installation work across gates, fencing, and custom ironwork projects. This is a hands-on role designed for team members who are adaptable and willing to work across fabrication, welding, material prep, post setting, and field installation depending on workload and project needs. Team members in this position rotate through different phases of shop and field operations to develop a broader skill set and support overall production and installation workflows. This role is ideal for someone who wants to continue developing in the trades while gaining exposure to multiple aspects of custom ironwork and installation work. This is a physically demanding role that requires consistent attendance, steady productivity, and the ability to work efficiently throughout the day. Strong performers who demonstrate reliability, quality workmanship, productivity, and leadership potential may have opportunities to grow into lead installer, fabrication, or crew leader roles over time. Key Responsibilities Assist with fabrication and installation of custom gates, fencing, railings, and other ironwork projects Perform MIG welding in both shop and field environments Support fence and gate installation at residential and commercial job sites Set posts, maintain layout accuracy, and assist with straight-line fence installation Cut, grind, prep, and stage materials for fabrication and installation Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment Maintain clean and organized work areas in both shop and field environments Follow company safety procedures and job site standards Work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining quality standards Rotate between shop, prep, and field responsibilities based on operational needs Continue developing welding, fabrication, and installation skills Qualifications Experience Minimum 1 year of MIG welding or fabrication experience required Prior fencing, gate, ironwork, or installation experience preferred Ability to read a tape measure accurately for installation and fabrication requirements Experience using common fabrication and installation tools Trade school or technical training helpful but not required Skills & Traits Reliable and consistent attendance Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Adaptable and comfortable working across multiple areas of operations Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to take direction and maintain productivity throughout the day Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Texas heat Training & Development New team members rotate through multiple areas of shop and field operations during onboarding, including material prep, post setting, fabrication support, and installation work. This cross-training approach helps team members develop a broader understanding of Lambert's standards, workflow, and installation methods. Strong performers may also have opportunities to support custom ironwork projects, including stairs, railings, balconies, gates, and other architectural work.
