POSITION SUMMARY
Hunter Trim & Cabinets is seeking a detail-oriented Cabinet Assembler to join our production team. This role is responsible for the assembly and fabrication of custom wood cabinets according to shop drawings and production goals. Following a training and evaluation period, team members will be placed into a more specific role within the shop based on performance, skill set, and production needs. Education and Experience:
Millwork, carpentry, and a production experience (1-year minimum) High school diploma or equivalent
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to use handheld power tools, fabricating machines, and power equipment. Analytical Skills - ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings. Mechanical aptitude and good math skills to calculate measurements, such as length, surface area and volume. Ability to read a tape measure. Must have skills working with basic woodworking tools. Basic understanding of woodworking materials and methods. Must be able to work in a team environment. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 75 pounds. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms; use fine motor coordination and eye-hand coordination. Frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to work in an environment where fluctuating temperatures may exist between hot and cold. As needed, demonstrate proper operation of equipment and general work techniques (tools and machine operation, etc.), including safety. Knowledge of machines, equipment and tools, including appropriate use and basic maintenance. Able to perform detailed work and maintain production, quality and safety under pressure and deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a shop floor production environment. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts; is exposed to vibration, humidity, changes in temperature, and loud noise. Frequently is exposed to fumes/particulates, chemicals, moving equipment, electricity.
Availability:
This is a full-time, hourly position (minimum 40-hour work week, hours could exceed that depending upon workload).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read cabinet drawings and specifications. Verify dimensions and check the quality or fit pieces to ensure adherence to drawings and specifications. Assemble cabinets using pneumatic and electrical hand tools. Attach parts or sub-assemblies together to form completed units using screws or other fasteners. Set up and safely operate machines and tools such as table saw, miter saw, routers, sanders and nail guns. Be knowledgeable of all construction methods, router profiles, door and drawer components and hardware's. Be knowledgeable of all wood types. Perform regular inspections, routine maintenance, and cleaning of tools and equipment. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Ensure safe operations of tools and equipment including table saw, miter saw, routers, sanders and nail guns. Utilize daily improvement time to evaluate ways to make your job simpler, safer and faster. Complete special projects as assigned by Lead Cabinet Assembler. Always perform duties in a safe and conscientious manner.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to use pneumatic and electrical hand tools, machinery and saws. Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and saws. Strict adherence to corporate values and LEAN manufacturing principles Willing to submit to pre-employment background verification, medical review and drug and alcohol screening. Willing to submit to random drug testing during employment. Able to read, write, and communicate (speak, hear, and understand) English.
