Temp-to-Hire Position Overview A Sugar Land manufacturer is hiring a skilled Fabrication Technician to join their metal fab team. You'll fabricate and assemble metal components, working closely with engineering to deliver high-quality products built to precise client specifications. Key Responsibilities Read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (understanding tolerances a plus) Operate metal fabrication equipment including press brakes (CNC experience preferred), welding equipment, and other shop tools Fabricate and assemble metal components into finished products, ensuring structural integrity and quality Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and protractors Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot fabrication issues and improve processes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metal fabrication is a plus Minimum 2 years of metal fabrication experience, preferably in manufacturing Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Proficiency with metal fab machinery and hand tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Forklift experience (2+ years preferred) Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Repetitive motions including grinding, lifting, and bending Work in a noisy and dusty shop environment Preferred Skills Polishing or finishing techniques Welding and fabrication process knowledge Forklift certification About LINK Staffing LINK Staffing has been connecting great people with great jobs for over 45 years.
