Fabrication Technician Lavi Industries, LLC - 2.3 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time $18 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Writing skills Metal materials Dimensional measurements Cutting tools Full Job Description The Fabrication Technician - Tubing & Railings is responsible for the preparation, processing, and inventory control of metal tubing and railing components within the fabrication shop. This is a hands-on role that supports production by ensuring materials are accurately cut, processed, tracked, and staged, while maintaining job records within the company's ERP system. Duties & Responsibilities Material Preparation and Fabrication Cut metal tubing to specified lengths according to work orders Perform heat shrinking and related material processing Verify dimensions and quality of finished components Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory of pre-cut tubing and raw materials Track material usage and ensure proper allocation to jobs Organize materials for efficient access and workflow ERP Systems Operations Create, update, and close jobs within the ERP system Record material consumption and job status accurately Ensure alignment between physical and system records Workflow Support Coordinate with the Fabrication Shop Supervisor on job priorities Stage and prepare materials to support production schedules Identify and communicate material shortages or discrepancies Material Handling and Equipment Use Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, stage, and store materials Safely retrieve and put away materials using warehouse ladders and racking system General Shop Support Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and company policies Assist with additional fabrication or shop-related tasks as assigned Travel Requirement No travel: This role is primarily based on-site in the production facility. Required Skills Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar shop environment preferred Ability to read measurements and use cutting/fabrication tools Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become forklift certified Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or ERP software is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Learn and understand materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and brass Possesses knowledge of tubing diameter by sight (i.e. 1 ½ in and 2 in). Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Education & Experience High school education/diploma and/or equivalent. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing is a plus. Bilingual in English / Spanish Work Environment While performing the job duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate. Steel-toed shoes are required.
