Full Job Description Lead Production Assembler & Trainer Pay:
$18.00 per hour

San Antonio, TX HireWorks is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Production Assembler & Trainer to join a leading manufacturing facility in San Antonio. This role combines hands-on production assembly with employee training and development. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others succeed. As a Lead Production Assembler & Trainer, you will serve as a subject matter expert on the production floor, assisting with assembly operations while training and mentoring new and current employees on processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Train and mentor new and current Production Assemblers throughout all phases of the manufacturing process Facilitate new hire orientation, on-the-job training (OJT), and refresher training as needed Coordinate training activities with supervisors and HR based on production needs Assess employee skills and identify opportunities for additional training and cross-training Maintain training records, training matrices, and employee development documentation Support continuous improvement initiatives, Kaizen activities, and workplace safety programs Assemble products according to work instructions, quality standards, and production goals Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure quality requirements are met Maintain expert knowledge of work instructions, standardized work procedures, and manufacturing processes Develop job breakdown sheets and training materials to support employee development Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) and assist with quality inspections Communicate production concerns, discrepancies, and training needs with leadership Complete production and quality documentation accurately Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of experience training employees in a manufacturing or production environment Strong hands-on assembly and manufacturing experience required Experience with Training Within Industry (TWI), Job Instruction Training (JIT), On-the-Job Training (OJT), or similar training methodologies preferred Experience with complex products and manual production processes preferred Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices preferred Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality standards, and safety procedures ERP experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written Must pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check
