Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling equipment using hand and power tools, operating material-handling equipment, and supporting both production and outbound shipping activities in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will work from drawings and manufacturing orders, follow standard operating procedures, and actively contribute to continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives within a growing production department. Responsibilities Assemble equipment using a variety of hand and power tools in accordance with drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing orders. Operate an overhead crane to safely load and unload Use a stand-up forklift to pick parts for orders and move materials within the production and warehouse areas. Utilize a touchscreen computer system to access job lists and update work status as required. Follow standard operating procedures for all assigned tasks and maintain consistent, accurate work practices. Receive daily work assignments from team leadership and complete production activities according to schedule and quality standards. Use personal protective equipment correctly at all times, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, uniform, and any additional PPE required by specific processes. Identify and immediately report safety, quality, parts, or equipment deviations on status boards and directly to team leadership. Participate actively in daily status board meetings by explaining issues, sharing observations, and proposing practical solutions. Review existing standard operating procedures and suggest improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Identify and reduce waste in your work area, including unnecessary time, motion, transportation, and excess inventory. Engage in daily and weekly 5S routines to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area and sustain high 5S standards. Seek cross-training opportunities across different manufacturing processes to increase flexibility and add value to the team. Use downtime productively to learn new processes, improve skills, and support improvement actions identified in status board activities. Stop the production process when safety, quality, or environmental deviations occur and escalate concerns appropriately. Highlight problems and deviations promptly and participate in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities. Communicate effectively with support functions such as Quality, Maintenance, Order Planning, and Warehouse as needed. Support outbound shipping activities, including picking, material handling, and preparing outbound shipments when required. Essential Skills 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with machines, equipment, and jigs. Proven forklift operating experience, including stand-up forklift operation. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Experience using hand and power tools in a production or assembly setting. Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing orders. Intermediate computer skills, including use of touchscreen systems to access job lists and production information. Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in mechanical assembly or machine operation. Consistent and correct use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and gloves. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain high safety and quality standards. Effective communication skills to interact with team leadership and support functions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in electrical-mechanical work or higher-level assemblies. Experience in plumbing, electrical, piping, or metal assembly, including work with copper and brazing processes. Experience in quality assurance, maintenance, or machine operation in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with warehouse operations such as picking, material handling, stocking, and outbound shipping. Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and outbound shipping processes, including carriers such as FedEx. Comfort working in a team-based environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement and 5S. Ability to adapt to a new or evolving department and support setup and organization activities. Work Environment This is an onsite role in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a strong team atmosphere and a warehouse located next to the production area. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday-Friday), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m., Monday-Friday), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m., Sunday-Friday), with the greatest need on 3rd shift. The department is relatively new and in the process of being set up and organized, offering the opportunity to contribute to its structure and processes. You will work with hand and power tools, overhead cranes, stand-up forklifts, touchscreen computer systems, and standard warehouse and shipping equipment. The dress code includes steel-toe shoes, long pants, and a plain t-shirt, with safety glasses provided. The onsite restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, and the culture emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
