Assembler/Production Position Summary :
Under the direction of the section lead, the assembler is responsible for assembling custom dock seals and shelters used in commercial and industrial loading docks. This position involves working with heavy-duty fabrics, wood, metal frames, and insulation materials to create weather-resistant and durable loading dock enclosures. The ideal candidate has experience with hand tools, sewing equipment, and basic assembly processes.
Primary responsibilities:
Assemble dock seals and shelters according to drawings, work orders, and specifications. Cut, measure, and attach fabric covers (vinyl, canvas, etc.) to wood or metal frames. Install foam padding, fasteners, Velcro, and weatherstripping materials as required. Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic staplers, and sewing machines as needed. Inspect finished products for quality, durability, and adherence to company standards. Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each assembly. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Abilities, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, blueprints, or work orders. Skilled in measuring, cutting, and using hand/power tools. Comfortable working with industrial fabrics, foam, wood, and metal components. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical labor on a daily basis.
