Job Description

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Morgantown, WV is seeking to hire an Accessory Installer and Spray-In Products Technician who will be responsible for the professional installation of a wide range of aftermarket automotive and truck accessories, as well as the preparation and application of spray-on protective coatings. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation of Accessories:
Install a wide variety of aftermarket accessories, including but not limited to, bed covers, trailer hitches, grille guards, running boards, lighting systems, winches, toolboxes, and electrical components. Perform electrical wiring to integrate new components, such as security systems, audio equipment, and LED lighting. Mount and balance wheels and tires, and install suspension systems like lift kits.
Spray-In Product Application:
Prepare vehicle surfaces, including masking, sanding, and cleaning, to ensure proper adhesion of spray-on coatings. Operate spray equipment to apply protective coatings, such as bedliners, evenly and with high precision. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble spray equipment, using solvents and other tools.
Quality and Process Management:
Conduct pre- and post-installation inspections and quality checks to ensure all accessories and coatings are functioning correctly. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to installation or product application. Follow all company, manufacturer, and safety guidelines and procedures.
Customer Service and Administration:
Maintain accurate work orders and records of labor hours and parts used. Interact with customers to understand their customization needs and provide information on product usage and maintenance.
Shop Maintenance:
Keep a clean, safe, and organized work environment by properly storing all tools and equipment. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in automotive accessory installation, paint and body, or a related field. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50+ pounds) and stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Commitment to following detailed instructions and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from a vocational school or an apprenticeship in automotive technology. Experience with paint and body work. Welding experience. ASE certification.
