Your Career We currently have an opening in our Northport, Alabama plant for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our leadership team in the role of Plant Manager. The ideal candidate is responsible for the daily leadership and performance of production operations, including the Pole Plant, Finishing, and Yard. This role oversees production efficiency, quality, safety, maintenance coordination, and the supervision of employees to meet operational and customer service goals. Working closely with the General Manager, the Plant Manager ensures that daily operations align with StressCrete's purpose, vision, and values. Your Impact Lead by example with a strong focus on safety, quality, accountability, professionalism, and ethical behavior. Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance team culture through fairness, consistency, and clear expectations. Coach, motivate, and develop supervisors and employees to achieve strong team performance. Ensure supervisors understand their responsibility to lead first and maintain professional boundaries. Respond to employee concerns, questions, and feedback in a timely and respectful manner. Work with Human Resources to support training, performance management, employee relations, and corrective actions when required. Support the StressCrete Group by driving continuous improvement initiatives and assist employees in bringing ideas forward. Represent the Company positively and lead by example within production and at Company-sponsored social events.
Operational Leadership Plant Operations:
Oversee daily operations of the Pole Plant, Finishing, and Yard departments to ensure efficient, safe, and organized production. Ensure daily pre-shift meetings are being completed and all required checklists are followed. Set and maintain appropriate pace of production per shift to meet customer demand. Monitor daily production lists to ensure customer service needs are met. Ensure plant cleanliness and organization is maintained at all time in a "Tour-ready" condition, with priority areas addressed daily. Quality Control (QC): Uphold and enforce high quality values at every stage of production. Ensure all employees are trained and retrained on quality and procedural requirements on a regular basis. Work closely with the Quality Control department to reduce scrap rate through employee training, corrective actions, and daily discussions. Work closely with the Quality Control department to meet off-quality targets related to set-up, mix, mold, and plugged poles. Review scrap, off-quality, and deficiency reports and implement corrective actions, including retraining or discipline when required. Ensure all finished products are inspected before leaving the yard. Provide direction for the Maintenance department regarding regular and preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery.
Health & Safety:
Uphold a strong safety culture throughout production. Ensure employees are wearing and using required personal protective equipment and following safe work practices at all times. Ensure employees receive proper safety training during onboarding and refresher training every 6-12 months. Participate in and review incident investigations and corrective actions. Work with Human Resources and Health and Safety personnel to continuously improve safety policies and procedures.
Your Experience:
High school diploma required 5+ years of Manufacturing experience 5+ years of Leadership/supervisory experience Formal safety training in Due Diligence, Workplace Inspections, Incident Investigations, and First Aid. Formal training in leadership, management, safety, or other skills as determined by the Company. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Accountable and results driven, with a strong attention to detail. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent time management and organization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with MS Office Suite of products.
