Car allowance, relocation assistance Position Summary The Plant Manager will lead the launch and ongoing operations of a new, multi-building assembly manufacturing campus. This role is responsible for driving a successful start-up and ensuring sustained operational excellence across two on-site facilities. The leader will establish a strong safety culture, build and develop high-performing teams, optimize production and quality systems, and deliver consistent operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven leader with experience in greenfield or major plant startup environments. This individual will bring a strong safety mindset, operational discipline, and a continuous improvement orientation, with a proven ability to lead complex manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end operations across a multi-site campus (two production facilities), ensuring alignment of production schedules, capacity planning, and throughput optimization. Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance. Own site-level P&L performance, including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Establish and sustain a strong safety culture aligned with OSHA standards and corporate safety objectives. Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, including site leadership at each facility; ensure effective coaching, mentorship, and succession planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean Six Sigma principles and operational best practices. Oversee quality systems to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. Maintain accurate operational reporting and financial analysis using ERP/MRP and manufacturing systems. Lead problem-solving initiatives to address operational inefficiencies, production issues, and quality challenges. Partner cross-functionally to support successful plant launch, ramp-up, and long-term operational stability. Ensure effective use of digital tools, manufacturing systems, and reporting platforms to enhance decision-making and performance visibility. Limited travel as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field). Minimum 12+ years of manufacturing experience, with strong emphasis on assembly-based operations. At least 3+ years of Plant Manager experience overseeing 300+ employees. Proven success leading a greenfield plant launch or a brownfield startup (equipment installation and operational commissioning). Strong background in final assembly manufacturing environments (critical requirement).
Experience in industries such as:
Industrial racking systems Conveyor systems (airport baggage handling, automated material handling; Tier 1 automotive assembly environments Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical integration within assembly processes. Lean Manufacturing / Lean Six Sigma experience strongly preferred. Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production management tools. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Not heavily focused on plastics manufacturing experience.
