Job Description
Overview APL Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a dynamic and strategic Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations with energy, precision, and a practical, operations-focused approach. In this role, you will oversee daily production activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure consistent performance across manufacturing and warehouse operations. This position requires a balance of leadership and technical expertise, with direct involvement in shop floor operations. You will play a key role in supporting a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency while helping teams meet operational goals. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, plant operations, and product processing
- Oversee and support production activities across machining and finishing processes
- Develop and execute production planning strategies to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Utilize ERP systems to monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and supply chain performance
- Oversee supply chain activities, including purchasing and planning
- Manage and support all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, material handling, and shipping
- Drive process improvements through data analysis and operational best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control protocols, and regulatory requirements across all operations Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in production and operations management within a manufacturing environment
- Practical, working knowledge of precision metal manufacturing processes
- Experience supporting and engaging with shop floor operations in a manufacturing environment
- Experience overseeing warehouse operations, including inventory control, material flow, and shipping/receiving
- Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
