Job Description
Factory Design Manager / Engineer Innovative manufacturing company with facilities in Fremont, CA seeks a seasoned Factory Design Manager to lead the full design and engineering lifecycle for complex construction and infrastructure projects, from concept development through production buildout. This is a full-time opportunity offering $96,800 - $168,000 annually, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Company-paid health, life, and AD&D insurance options. As a Factory Design Manager, you will leverage your engineering, construction, manufacturing, and project management expertise to lead multi-disciplinary teams and deliver world-class infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading design reviews and managing engineering and construction deliverables across all project phases. Driving design and engineering execution from concept through delivery to support aggressive project timelines. Developing strategies for design, engineering, and permitting activities to align with construction objectives. Managing permitting, construction documentation, RFIs, transmittals, and change control processes to ensure coordination and compliance. Coordinating schedules with Project Controls, procurement, and construction teams to maintain milestone alignment. Translating stakeholder requirements into actionable technical deliverables and execution plans. Managing project scope, technical planning, resources, and risk across multiple concurrent initiatives. Applying lean construction practices, BIM integration, and innovative engineering solutions to accelerate project execution. To qualify for this Factory Design Manager role, you must have at least four (4) years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within A/E firms, along with expertise in CSA and/or MEP projects. You must also have experience delivering complex infrastructure or manufacturing projects from design through execution.Additional qualifications include:
A bachelor's degree in architecture, civil, mechanical, structural, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience. PE or Licensed Architect designation preferred. A strong understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering principles, with the ability to lead teams, allocate resources effectively, and solve complex engineering challenges. Experience delivering IFB, IFP, and IFC design packages for manufacturing facilities and site infrastructure projects, including coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and local agencies. The ability to manage subcontractors, third-party consulting firms, and multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with construction management and scheduling tools. The ability to travel globally and work extended hours as needed to support project demands.
