Job Description:
JSG is seeking an EHS Manager for our client in Paso Robles. The EHS Manager will take a leadership role in establishing and maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work environment for our client. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional with a strong background in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management who is committed to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Lead incident investigations and ensure proper reporting and follow-up procedures are adhered to, fostering a culture of safety. Collaborating with plant management and department leads to integrate safety practices into daily operations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations to ensure compliance. Prepare and maintain documentation for safety protocols, environmental reports, and training records. Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and safety training sessions for all employees. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives, recommending improvements as needed. Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory audits and inspections.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven track record in environmental health and safety management, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and industry best practices. Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop tailored safety protocols. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to promote safety awareness among diverse teams. Proficiency with safety management systems and incident reporting software. Ability to analyze safety data and proactively address potential hazards. Experience in training employees on safety procedures and environmental policies.
Desirable Skills:
Hands-on experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments, particularly with process safety. Strong understanding of sustainability and environmental conservation initiatives. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years' experience in EHS roles, with progressive responsibility. Certifications such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or
OSHA HAZWOPER
certification are highly advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
Willing to travel occasionally for site audits, training sessions, and external inspections. Ability to respond quickly to safety incidents and provide effective solutions.
