Job Description
The Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept through production and delivery. This role serves as a key liaison between Sales, Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure products are developed, costed, produced, and delivered according to company standards, timelines, and business objectives. The position manages sample development, vendor relationships, production execution, and cross-functional communication to support seasonal launches, trade shows, private label programs, and in-house collections. Partner with Merchandising to develop seasonal line plans and product concepts. Collaborate with the Head Designer to review line plans, product assortments, and seasonal development needs. Attend concept, sketch, and design review meetings and provide feedback regarding product viability, costing, and production feasibility. Lead product development efforts for styles requiring fabric, fit, construction, or quality improvements. Ensure products are accurately established within company systems and prepared for production. Manage sample timelines and deliverables for pre-booking, trade shows, sales presentations, and photoshoots. Coordinate development and production of Salesman Samples (SMS) and photography samples. Process and track trade show samples through Airtable, AIMS, and other company systems. Create, manage, and attach sample barcodes and hangtags. Support Sales Team requests related to product information, tag-on opportunities, and sample requirements. Request and negotiate product costing, lead times, and delivery schedules with domestic and international vendors. Manage vendor allocation strategies to support production capacity and business objectives. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and timely deliveries. Process orders through company systems and maintain accurate production records. Create production styles, purchase orders, and production-ready documentation. Coordinate with internal teams and external resources, including Upwork contractors, to support order processing activities. Manage tag-on orders and minimum order quantity (MOQ) requirements. Oversee production timelines and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery. Review fit, fabric quality, color, trims, labeling, and construction on Pre-Production (PP) and Top of Production (TOP) samples. Identify and resolve quality, fit, or production concerns prior to bulk production. Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
