Manufacturing Manager About Heise Industries Heise Industries is a leading designer and manufacturer of extrusion blow molds serving customers across North America. We specialize in precision mold manufacturing, CNC machining, mold assembly, and technical solutions for the packaging industry. We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead our production team, drive operational excellence, and support continued growth. Position Summary The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day manufacturing operations, including CNC machining, mold assembly, inspection, scheduling, and shop-floor execution. This position oversees a team of 15-25 employees and plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to develop teams while driving accountability and continuous improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of machinists, assemblers, inspectors, programmers, and support personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Conduct employee hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and career development. Maintain staffing levels to support current and future business requirements. Production Planning & Execution Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations and production schedules. Coordinate priorities across machining, programming, inspection, assembly, and shipping. Ensure projects are completed according to customer commitments and internal deadlines. Monitor shop capacity, workload, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and throughput. Manage overtime requirements based on production demands and business needs. Project & Schedule Management Maintain visibility of all active projects and manufacturing status. Communicate production schedules, delivery commitments, project risks, and resource requirements across departments. Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Programming, and Quality to ensure successful project execution. Proactively identify and resolve schedule conflicts, bottlenecks, and production challenges. Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and company quality standards. Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes. Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive process improvements focused on productivity, quality, delivery performance, and cost reduction. Establish and maintain manufacturing best practices and standard work procedures. Safety & Facility Operations Serve as the facility Safety Leader and promote a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Coordinate maintenance requirements for equipment, tooling, and facility resources. Maintain awareness of material, tooling, and equipment needs to support uninterrupted production. QualificationsRequired 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibilities. Proven success managing manufacturing operations, production schedules, and personnel. Strong understanding of CNC machining, mold manufacturing, inspection methods, and production workflows. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency. Working knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements and best practices. Preferred Experience in mold manufacturing, tooling, plastics, or extrusion blow molding industries. Familiarity with CNC programming and machining processes. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
