Job Description

Job Overview We are partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturer of advanced elastomer (rubber) components supporting aerospace, defense, naval, and space applications , including critical shock and vibration solutions. With a strong backlog (~$30M) and major investment in a state-of-the-art, expanding campus , this facility is positioned to become the company's largest operation over the next few years. The Plant Manager will lead two nearby manufacturing facilities , overseeing production, safety, quality, and overall performance in a highly regulated AS9100 environment . This role owns plant performance, drives continuous improvement, and executes a multi-year growth plan while leading a team of 100+ employees and partnering closely with executive leadership. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operations across two manufacturing sites Drive production output, on-time delivery, and backlog execution Implement and sustain Lean principles (5S, visual management, CI initiatives) Ensure compliance with AS9100, OSHA, and customer specifications Optimize labor utilization (target ≤25% labor per part) Lead process improvements in yield, scrap reduction, and throughput Oversee facility operations, capital equipment planning, and maintenance Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Leadership on NPI and process validation Build and develop a strong leadership team and production workforce Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor
Qualifications Required:
8-10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or engineering Experience in a regulated environment (AS9100 strongly preferred) Proven ability to lead large teams and drive plant performance Strong decision-making skills (ability to read drawings, make production calls, and halt production if needed)
Preferred:
Aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing background Experience with rubber/elastomer, molding, or bonded components ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.) Lean / Six Sigma experience Military leadership background (highly valued) Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting (including high-temperature processes ~350°F) Mix of modern and legacy equipment Primarily Monday-Friday (24/5 operation with occasional flexibility for weather or production needs) Travel between sites (~10 minutes apart) Why This Role?
