Job Description:
Job Summary Manage a graphics production facility, overseeing daily operations, staffing, training, and employee development. Set and achieve production goals while ensuring safety, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. Train production staff in printing processes and equipment use. Maintain inventory control and manage shipping and receiving activities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead, guide, and direct employees to meet or exceed operational goals, including monitoring performance, providing coaching, and supporting staff development. Oversee manufacturing and production processes and ensure weekly production schedules are met. Train production staff in the tools and techniques required for operations, including applicable environmental, occupational safety, and quality standards. Monitor work, enforce productivity standards, resolve operational issues, and implement process improvements as needed. Assume a leadership role in the development and modification of new methods, equipment, and workflows. Serve as a subject matter expert for process changes, quality audits, system enhancements, and customer-facing products and services. Communicate program information, production status, and operational updates to internal leadership and external client representatives as required. Be proficient in company production and workflow systems and tools. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Work closely with distribution and logistics personnel to ensure compliance with shipping and receiving procedures and organizational standards. Serve as operational site manager for multiple print and production programs, ensuring coordination across all operational areas and compliance with facility policies and procedures. Qualification Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Printing, Digital Media, Business, Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred. Minimum 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment. Language Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal and customer relations abilities. Mathematical Skills Strong applied math skills related to production planning, inventory, and operational metrics. Reasoning Ability Ability to train production staff in manufacturing and clerical techniques, while coordinating manpower and equipment utilization effectively. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) Strong understanding of OSHA and workplace safety standards Kaizen or continuous improvement experience preferred Knowledge of workflow and production systems such as Canon Workflow, Ricoh Workflow, and similar print management tools Strong technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and CorelDRAW or similar design software Other Skills and Abilities Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Flexible, collaborative team player with strong leadership capability. Physical Demands While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen, stand, and walk. The role requires use of hands to handle tools or controls and may require operation of equipment pedals. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required. Work Environment The work environment involves working near moving mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, dust, or mild industrial chemicals. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud depending on production activity.
