Woodworking Full Job Description Director of Production:
The Architect of Execution The Mission As the Director of Production, you are the bridge between a bold design and a flawless event. You don't just "oversee operations"—you own the lifecycle of every custom environment we build. Your impact is felt in the precision of our craftsmanship, the health of our profit margins, and the absolute peace of mind our clients feel when they step onto the show floor. You are the champion of accountability, the driver of efficiency, and the guardian of our most valuable assets: our people and our reputation. The Impact You Will Make1. Driving Operational Excellence & Profitability You turn "estimates" into "results." By streamlining the handoff between design and fabrication, you ensure that every project is a masterclass in efficiency.
The Outcome:
Maximized profit margins through savvy material procurement, reduced waste, and the elimination of operational bottlenecks. 2. Elevating the Standard of Craftsmanship You instill a "zero-failure" culture. Under your leadership, the warehouse isn't just a shop—it's a center of excellence where quality control is rigorous and "event-ready" is the only acceptable status.
The Outcome:
A reputation for world-class quality that wins repeat business and keeps our organization at the top of the industry. 3. Championing a Culture of Safety & Growth You are the primary advocate for our team's well-being. By spearheading the Safety Team and refining SOPs, you create an environment where high output never comes at the expense of high standards.
The Outcome:
A high-performing, loyal production team that operates with precision, safety, and professional pride. 4. Mastering Global Logistics & Readiness You ensure the "impossible" happens on time, every time. You orchestrate the complex dance of freight, drayage, and on-site assembly so that the client experience is seamless.
The Outcome:
Flawless show-site deliveries that eliminate client stress and protect our physical assets.
Your Sphere of Influence Strategic Leadership:
You lead the Project Management and Production teams, translating complex build drawings into actionable, high-speed production tasks.
Process Innovation:
You don't just follow SOPs; you evolve them. You'll implement best practices in capacity analysis and inventory tracking to ensure we stay agile as we scale.
Fiscal Stewardship:
You own the budget. By monitoring labor hours and material usage, you ensure the business remains lean, competitive, and profitable. Success Metrics Your success is defined by the health of the shop and the success of the show:
Efficiency:
High on-time production rates and optimized labor-hour-to-completion ratios.
Quality:
Drastic reduction in rework rates and high warehouse organization scores.
Safety:
Maintaining a top-tier Safety Metric (TRIR) and 100% PPE compliance.
Fiscal Health:
Positive freight cost variance and strict budget adherence.
Who You Are A Proven Leader:
You have 5+ years of experience in custom fabrication or tradeshow services and can lead a shop with authority and empathy.
A Technical Expert:
You can read a build drawing as easily as a spreadsheet. You understand the nuances of woodworking, metalworking, and scenic construction.
A Problem Solver:
You thrive under tight deadlines. When a logistics hurdle arises, you don't just find a workaround—you find a permanent solution.
A Visionary Organizer:
You see the "big picture" of a warehouse layout while never losing sight of the smallest inventory detail. What We Offer The chance to lead the production of unforgettable event experiences for high-profile global brands. We provide the platform, the tools, and the team—you provide the drive to make our production standards the gold standard of the industry. Relocation assistance can be provided for the selected individual. Must be able to pass a stringent background check and drug test.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
Benefits:
