Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of a Metal Source Alloy location. The Plant Manager is the senior operational leader responsible for the overall safe and profitable operation of the facility. This role bridges strategic corporate objectives with daily floor execution, ensuring production targets are met while maximizing efficiency, quality, and financial performance. Drives cost-effective operations and acts as a key business partner to senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and P&L Accountability Maximize profitability by minimizing operational costs, reducing waste, and improving productivity (OEE). Oversee inventory control and inventory turns. Allocating resources effectively and budget management. Operations Leadership Planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations. Managing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards. Ensuring production output, product quality, and on-time shipping. Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes. Safety & Compliance Enforce strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local/federal regulations to maintain a safe and hazard-free environment. Cultivate a strong safety culture and conduct regular "Gemba walks" for continuous safety improvement. Team Leadership Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and teamwork. Provide a clear sense of direction and focus for direct reports, as well as overall staff management, employee engagement, and development.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree is preferred and/or 5-10 years of experience in the manufacturing or foundry industry. Previous aluminum foundry or scrap recycling experience preferred. 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience.
COMPETENCIES
Managerial, analytical, written, and oral communication skills are important. Self-motivated with the ability to lead without daily supervision and direction. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as computer-based management systems for inventory and production control, shipping operations, and fulfillment services. Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Activity:
Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Visual Acuity:
Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Some protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Also subject to dust, dirt, and extreme noise.
