Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Manager will lead and manage all manufacturing activities, including production and personnel, within the Kansas City manufacturing operation while maintaining core LW priorities. This position has a key role in the manufacturing of finished goods, machine maintenance and managing production staff. In addition, the Manufacturing Manager will work closely with the management team guiding all Laminate Works operations.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all aspects of the production of panels and component parts produced within the manufacturing operation. Follow and manage defined systems and processes by implementing and following the standard operating procedures (SOP's). This includes making recommendations for modifications or new SOP's as necessary. Communicate and reinforce LW values, policies and procedures while training, managing and coaching 7 Supervisors and their teams. Train, coach and motivate Supervisors to ensure they are leading and managing their teams effectively. Ensure accountability across all production staff as it relates to process, policy, and safety adherence. Responsible for the compliance of quality and packaging standards and processes. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of all production machinery, including management of the maintenance technician and ongoing development of machine maintenance training and expectations of production staff. Performs analysis of actual time versus estimated, manufacturing workflow and raw material usage to make recommendations to improve manufacturing processes and to better serve customers. Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all orders are delivered on time, as promised. Constantly monitor and report on progress of all orders and notify potential late deliveries immediately. Work closely with Materials Manager to communicate timely information for production scheduling activities. Develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential machine manufacturers. Work with Supervisors to refine and build on the training program for different areas of the plant floor, enhancing the experience for new hires. Manage and review budgets and financial reports to ensure the operations are meeting profitability targets. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Enforce safety standards for employees to follow when working with machines and other potentially dangerous equipment or chemicals in line with OSHA regulations.
