Job Description

Production Manager Wichita, KS 67217 Apply Apply Description SUMMARY The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production activities to ensure operational targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role leads production teams, drives accountability, and partners cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery of conforming products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, organize, and prioritize daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and throughput targets Lead and support production supervisors, ensuring alignment with company goals, policies, and performance expectations Coordinate work across departments to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery Monitor production performance, including output, quality, and delivery, and report progress and issues to leadership Ensure adherence to quality standards by driving accountability and promoting a culture of excellence and defect prevention Support execution of production plans by assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and tracking performance Facilitate regular meetings with supervisors to review performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement Identify training needs, support employee development, and promote workforce engagement and growth Enforce workplace organization and cleanliness standards, including 6S or similar programs Partner with leadership to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE
Manufacturing operations and production planning Aerospace and/or chemical processing environments (preferred) Quality standards and production control processes Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles Workforce planning, scheduling, and performance management

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of related production or manufacturing experience Prior leadership or supervisory experience required Experience in aerospace, chemical processing, or similar environment preferred Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
Combination of office and production floor environment Frequent interaction with supervisors, operators, and leadership Exposure to variable environmental conditions within a manufacturing setting Standard business hours with additional time required to support production needs Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment May require occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
